The E-3 Visa is for Australians only, to work in the United States. It’s a simple, inexpensive process that is unlike any other visa!

E-3 Visa Eligibility

You’re eligible for the E-3 Visa if you meet the below general requirements:

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Must have a degree*
• Must have a job offer in the United States that requires a degree

*Australians may earn the equivalent of a 4 year U.S. Bachelor’s Degree by virtue of formal education and/or progressive professional experience.

The Basics

• Visa fee is $205 USD
• Processing time is about 4-6 weeks
• Available in 2 year increments
• Theoretically renewable indefinitely
• Spouse and Children can apply (E3-D)
• Spouse can apply for Employment Authorization (EAD) to work in the US
• Employee must earn the greater of the actual or prevailing wage
• Position must require a U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalent

The E-3 Visa Process

1. Employer files Labor Condition Application with U.S. Department of Labor
2. Candidate submits DS-160, pays $205, and attends appointment at a U.S. Consulate outside of the US
3. Candidate receives E3 visa and starts new job
